Dr Hannah Greenwood-Murry

I’m Hannah, a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. Alongside my private practice, I work in the NHS as a Senior Clinical Psychologist with adults with a variety of mental health difficulties, although often specialise in working with PTSD and Complex PTSD.  This means I bring extensive experience, evidence-based approaches, and a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to therapy.

How I work

At the heart of my work is a genuine, collaborative relationship. Feeling truly safe, heard and understood is where healing begins. Therapy isn’t something I do to you—it’s something we do together. You bring your strengths, values, and experiences, and we’ll use them as a foundation. I’ll support you in developing a clearer understanding of your difficulties, exploring what’s been holding you back, and discovering ways to move forward. And through it all, I’ll encourage self-compassion, because I know that this is a crucial part of healing. I know that lasting change comes from both insight and action, so together, we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and work towards the shift you’re looking for.

I believe therapy should be more than just talking—it should be focused, meaningful and transformative.  That’s why I integrate creative and dynamic methods like imagery, chair work, and experiential exercises to support powerful change.

No two people are the same, and neither should therapy be! This means I can tailor therapy to fit you—your experiences, your strengths, and your values. I have training in and can draw from a range of evidence-based therapies:

  •  Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) - a leading therapy for processing trauma and difficult experiences.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Who I Work With

I work exclusively with adults and have a particular passion for supporting those recovering from difficult life experiences, trauma, anxiety, and emotional struggles. I can offer evidence-based therapy for a variety of difficulties, including depression, generalised anxiety/worry, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). As I am a sole practitioner without direct links to intensive support/crisis teams, currently, I am unable to safely support people who are struggling to keep themselves safe.

If this resonates with you, please do reach out to see if we might be a good fit to work together —I’d be honoured to support you on your journey.
